Faith in non-living icons

Terrace
Is there a modern-day idolatry within Christianity? Roman Catholic church and the Orthodox Church have icons and iconography as part of their practices and doctrines. Said practices emanated not from early Christians, who were brutalized and killed by the Roman Empire, but from the Roman Empire itself. Is iconography the modern-day idolatry?

Like in idolatry, the images in iconography are made by human hands. In all intentions, images, including statues, are made for the purpose of adoring and praising someone or something but excluding God as no person knows the exact image of God. On the other hand, Christ and his mother never furnished anybody their pictures while still living and thereafter, for purposes of identifying exactly their image by adoring individuals. So, their present alleged images are not authentic at all. That being the case, it follows that praising Christ and his mother through their alleged present artistic images is a product of deception.

In the case of the “holy” cross and the “holy” rosary: Are they also a manifestation of idolatry?

Yes, of course. What are being adored in these images are the heavenly cross, more specifically a constellation or the southern cross and the rosary beads and strings and nothing more, these images being not designated by God, Christ and his mother as their worldly representatives . If the images were not designated to receive praises for them, then the adoration being given through them is useless. Besides, taking out of these images from the belief system of an individual is never a violation of God’s command.

In fine, what was changed was only the terminology but operationally idolatry and iconography are the same.

By comparison: When Israel and the Kingdom of Judah committed idolatry, the name of God was not used to commit it. They duly identified the name of goddess Asherah and Baal as subjects of their idolatry, among others. There was no deceit as to the identity of the false gods but consequently, they were punished. In contrast, is it not a fact that Roman Catholic and the Orthodox Churches are using the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, in order to commit idolatry? Are they using the name of God in vain? Was there a deceit? In terms of punishments, which group should receive more?

Faith in money

Pope Francis does not like "money" to be idolized. On deeper analysis however , it turns out that he was referring to "greed" in money being constitutive of idolatry. But. is the use of word "idolatry" appropriate for "greed'?   Before we discuss this questionable use of word "greed" in "idolatry", let us first quote the   report in www.rawstory.com.  "Speaking at daily Mass on Monday, Pope Francis condemned the worship of money."  "Though money itself was not inherently evil, Francis said the attachment to money lead to destruction of families, friends, and the self". “It leads you to idolatry, it destroys your relationship with others,” he said, according to Radio Vatican. “It’s not money, but the attitude, what we call greed. Then too this greed makes you sick, because it makes you think of everything in terms of money. It destroys you, it makes you sick.”

Faith in constellation southern cross

"Cross is the smallest of the 88 modern constellations ,but is one of the most distinctive types, being dominated by a cross-shaped asterism that is commonly known as the Southern Cross". ( Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) The image of the cross is the most important part of Roman Catholicism. In fact, you could see nuns, priests, bishops, archbishops, and Popes wearing crucifix. Also, by comparison, Christ called the Father in heaven as "Father" but Roman Catholicism is calling the Father in Vatican City as "Holy Father". The  body of Christ is not being called holy in contrast to the cross, which is being called "holy". When  Christ died, he was resurrected to life by the Father in heaven. But when the cross lost its force against early Christians, who were never afraid to die on the cross, it was resurrected to life by the Holy Father in Vatican City through the Roman Empire. Aside from calling it holy, Roman Catholicis...

Faith in mysterious deception

Only truth will set you free when faced with religious deception, which is usually carried through faith in mystery. Thus, a search for it is being required to address the issue, which is inversely related to individual's rights of freedom of choice. In turn, this freedom requires "truth" as a necessity.  The less effective the exercise of freedom, e.g due to ignorance, religious arrogance, "untruthful" information, disinterest, tradition, etc., the more the enslavement by religious deception.  Its detection will not only need looking at the "truth" but would need individual's personal commitment to study and correct one's belief system, without which, the "truth", despite of its abundance, would be futile and worthless. Even in calamities , religious deception is present. A religious sector may act as a representative of God by substantially promoting "God is Love" but at the same time continues t...

Faith in false name, false image and false practices

(Source of photo: YaohĂș Servo Yaohushua’s facebook page). Are you faithful believers of false name, false image and false religious doctrines and practices? Also, is there trinity of lies and deceptions in Jesu s Christ, which makes the name merely a product of man's imagination and foolishness? Specifically, is Jesus Christ a real person in terms of authenticity of the name , authenticity of the image and validity of doctrines and   practices being attached to him by false Christians? Or was his name merely invented by the bible , his image merely created by Leonardo Da Vinci and the doctrines and practices being attached to him merely created by false Christians by deceptively stealing the Words of God and mis-using the story of the real messiah? Related to the above issue is Habakkuk 2:12-14 , which is a prophecy for Vatican City , being the headquarter of the Roman Catholicism. As a background, Habakkuk 2 prophecy refers to the judgm...

Faith in hypocrisy

Roman Catholic faith promotes praying in public, especially, inside the Roman catholic building. Also, it promotes the alleged "holy" rosary prayer to be recited in public and in the alleged "church". You could hear these prayers in the malls and hear and see the three o'clock prayers in television. You can usually see publications showing the Pope kneeling and praying.  But what is being said in the scripture used by the Roman Catholic Alleged Church : 5 “When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites ! They love to stand up and pray in the houses of worship and on the street corners, so that everyone will see them. I assure you, they have already been paid in full. 6 But when you pray, go to your room, close the door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what you do in private, will reward you. Is praying in public a form of hypocrisy?
